I have two dogs and they love rolling on the ground. First, I need to use something to kill the just beginning to grow sticker (goat head) weeds-what is best? I have a huge yard! Then I want to plant a pretty ground cover (doesn't matter the color) that would withstand walking on and dogs playing on. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Call a landscaper. There are grasses designed for heavy wear and are durable.

i don't think you can get anything tougher than grass. there are differrent types however. I have bought what they call a playgound mix befor. It tends to need less water and care is a bit course but does withstand more traffic. However if you have very heavy use in the yard nothing is going to stand up. Freequesnt air rating will help dramatically...that is pockingg many holes into the lawn with a maching made for this or a pitchfork and there are also tools you can strap to your feet and walk around while wearing

Try Periwinkle. It comes in many different colours. Once it's in, it's a nightmare to get rid of!
