For one the guy that answered about the chemicals is a complete *** but thats just my opinion.

Anyway to take care of the stuffed animals you should try a stuffed animal hammock. they hang from you ceiling and look kinda cool. for the books and movies try playing alittle homemade tetris and cram them into what space you do have

hoped i help a little at least

For the stuffed animals, you can buy what looks like a hammock - hang it in the corner of the ceiling and toss them all in there. Big space saver.
For the CD's - do you really need the cases? How about putting them all in a binder (with the book) and tossing the jewel cases?
For storage - rubbermaid type totes are great, they hide stuff well. Fit whatever you can in there. Is your bed on the floor or on a frame? If it's on a frame, put stuff in those under the bed boxes and hide them. The more stuff that's OUT in plain sight, the more crowded it will look. A nice stack of 6 totes looks a lot better than 4 big piles of toys.
You're going to have to keep getting rid of toys, though. Watch what she plays with - pick 2 or 3 larger toys to keep out, and find a place to store the others (garage, attic, closet shelf). In a few weeks or months, switch them. For her, it'll be like having new toys!!!

What about putting those white wire shelves inside your closet, down toward the bottom, below the clothes, for the kid's toys and things. There's a lot of space there that a lot of people don't think of. Also, if you have a shelf up in the top of your closets, there may be room for another one above it, for stuff that you don't use very often.

I bought a large storage shelf from walmart and i put totes on the shelves It was three tall and it held three totes across. I would put the kids stuff on bottom so that it would be easy for them to get out and put away and stuff of yours on the top shelf. They also sell animal nets that you put in the corner for the stuffed animals.

another idea that one of my friends does is she only puts out some her sons toys and rotates them each week and he enjoys playing with different stuff all the time without having so much out at one one time

A wall unit with storage in the bottom would be a good idea for the toys etc.and would also give you space for your tv and cd's etc.and any electronic equipment.
A large hasock with lid is also good for storing toys.

Floating shelves will help a lot as they don't take up floor space. Ikea has some nice ones. Other wise de-clutter again! Good luck!
