I have a few cordyline red stars that I planted in August 2006. I have one die and two more are looking a bit sad.
The leaves look like they are being eaten. I was told that slugs attack them. Could this be true. I put slug bait out but they have got worse. Do they like wet feet or dry feet?
What can I do to revive them?
Thanks

I just moved into a new apartment with a great huge backyard, and I want to start a garden, but I have no clue what to do. I plan to just grow some mellow cooking herbs, and some veggies, and I just don't know what to do, so all advice is welcome!

We just moved into our new home (new construction) 6 months ago. My husband bought a rubbermaid "sinksaver" mat to put in the bottom of the sink to protect it from scratches, etc. I don't necessarily think that that is the source of the problem, but the sink has little brown spots all over it. They look like coffee or tea stains and they aren't the kind of stains that go away when you clean the sink and then come back when it dries. They are always there. Also, we have hard water. Any insight or suggestions?

I live in Coffs Harbour (Australia) and need to purchase some spigots to dispense liquid from large containers. My plan was to drill a hole, attach the spigot and then seal with silicon.

My wife had a cancer operation that removed half her insides and we decided to purchase a compact washer and dryer at Home Depot to have upstairs. The sales person told us that an extended warranty would make sure that we would have no problems until the year 2010 and if a tech had to come out more than 3 times they would replace it. Well the dryer broke at christmas and 4 tech visits later It's still not fixed and needs to be junked. After 2 days of phone calls and my wife in tears Home Depot offered us a lesser model and said we had to pay $100.00 for a new warranty. I made another 2 days of phone calls and they said that the warranty company would refund our money but it would take at least 30 days to process. These are the same guys who tried to fix it for 2 months. I told Home Depot this was not acceptable and they told me to take a hike and that all replacements and refunds are at the managers discretion. Thats not what the sales person told me.

I read on hear that I could put new ceramic tile directly on top of the old. My old tile has cracks in it and I want a larger tile than what I have now. Will it still work to put new on top of old? This sounds alot easier and faster than removing the cracked tile and backer board first.

Hi, I'm a teacher in Bangkok and our classroom has a few large air conditioning units. As we are coming and going from the room all day we constantly turn the AC power on and off. Will this cause any problems to the unit? Will it shorten the life of any parts, or cause condensation issues or anything like that?
