then ask mom what to do. wash all colors in cold, ignore the tags, cold makes the color last longer, i wash everything in cold except towels and sheets. dry everything on a fairly mild heat setting as you can actually melt some stuff. use prewash on any spots, oily stuff you need to use prewash thats in an aresol can, food type stains etc you need to use the stick type or liquid type removers, for paint and ink etc, use oops or goof off, dont ever dry something with a stain on it in the dryer, hang it up till you can tell if the stain came out, the dryer will set stains. blood and other protien stains must be soaked in cold water. hot water will set blood, baby formula, meat stains , egg, good luck and ask mom what she does. she will be happy you liked the way she did things.

I wash dark uniform clothes together in warm with no other lighter colors because if the colors bleed together with other darks you can't tell. Other light color uniforms should be washed in cold for the same reason, co the colors will not bleed together and stain ruin the original color. Whites in hot with no other colors with a prewash first. Never wash new dark colors together with anything else, especially dark pants

I like warm for the wash and the rinse. When I wash my hands, I get more and better results when I use warm water, so assume the same works best for clothes
My friends and kids bring their stained items to me because I can get out anything other than sharpies pens or rust just using my regular system and sometimes "Fels Naptha" (it is a bar soap you can still buy that really works).

I only wash in cold! For everything. I soak my whites with Biz for at least one hour and every single load gets a second rinse to which I add softner. My clothes last for years and don't lose thier color. Don't use bleach, it can yellow and tear down the treads in your clothes.
