I am building a canopy above my front door (weather protection). It is a pitched roof with one side attached to the house and one side supported by two stilts. The total height is 2.5mtrs, do I need building regs approval?

Am trying to save some money by replacing my 1989 Package Air Conditioning Unit with a new one by purchasing a new one and replacing it myself. It's a heat/air unit and know weight is a factor but don't know about the electrical side of it (yes, it's electric). All ductwork is ok, might change the thermostat. Thanks if anyone knows the difficulty of switching out a unit. Thanks

I recently took down a small half wall that had 2 outlets. I capped the wires to the one outlet and pushed it down into the crawlspace since we didn't need it. The other outlet was moved to the outer wall. This setup only had one black, one white and one copper wire. It seems to work fine, but I noticed that the other outlets in my house have 2 black and 2 white. Do I have a problem? Also, what about the outlet that I am not using? Is it okay that I just capped the wires with wire screws? Thanks, Karie

Sand logged in waste pipe?
Problem !! I was emptying out my fish tank of water down the bath and some sand got into the pipe and now the bathroom waste pipe seems to be blocked and no water will go down. The sand must be lodged very tight in the pipe. Any idea on how I can fix this ?

I have a very open apartment, 2 kids, and a husband. I am desperately trying to clear away clutter, but I have no storage. I have no closet space, and no money right now to buy storage things. I have a couple bins, but everyone knows that you can't put EVERYTHING into a bin! I'm looking for ideas of how to just trash everything I don't need, and how to keep my house (other than toys can't help that) from cluttering up!

About two or three weeks ago, someone sent an orchid to the manager in the office I work at and he decided to put it up front with me (I'm the receptionist). It's still alive and healthy so I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the care an orchid requires and how long it's expected to live.

I've been getting bitten every night while I sleep, but I haven't seen a single bug. I keep my room clean and haven't seen a live bug in my room since I have lived in this house. What on earth can I do!?!?

More importantly, why don't they just making a head for a socket wrench that tunes pianos?

The cheapest piano tuning lever *that was not goose neck* was around 35 dollars. thats too much money to pay for a piece of metal.

My cousin has a tree in her back yard in Tampa. Skin of the fruit is very bumpy. It reminds you of a giant lemon.
