I removed stubbornly glued vinyl tiles from kitchen floorboards with heavy duty scraper and a hot air blower (paint stripper type) which softened the glue and tiles.

It was hard work and my advice if they are securely fixed is just to lay a new floor covering on top without bothering to remove the old tiles.

i would try not to use a heat gun if i was you because when you heat some of that old vinyl it can emit some nasty toxins that can poison you, buy some sub flooring and ring shank nails lay it down over top of the vinyl and this will give you a nice clean level surface to work with. then apply your what ever you like to the sub floor. if you are set on only removing the vinyl i would recommend a heat gun and i have even seen people use a blow torch but like i said before i would not recommend this if you decide to wear a mask approved for the sitchawation and have a fan to blow the fumes away, after the bulk of the vinyl is removed there are no safe ways of cleaning the tile.

Heat will help the most, can try a glue remover at hardware stores. Takes alot of sweat and scraping to get the glue up. Last resort a hammer and chisel.

use an iron. iron your floor one tile at the time and remove it. The first one is the tricky one after it's easy. medium heat should work and a white cotton rag to protect your iron. good luck

Heaps of time, lots of elbow grease, a good heat gun and a sharp scraper!

Hope this helps!

Heat will usually cause the glue to turn loose. Try a heat gun in the really stuck areas.

You will have to scrape it off, any glue left can be taken off with white spirit and wire wool.
