Shut off the water, drain the pipes, cut the bad area out, sweat in a short segment of copper pipe with two slip couplings, flux, and solder. Recharge the system before you shut the valves, to avoid causing a dangerous pressure vessel. Once the water is flowing, and all the air is out of the pipes, shut the faucets, and check for a leak. If no leak, you D'man!

You don't say where the copper tubing is leaking from, so the fix would vary based on where the leak was from.
If it's from a compression fitting, try getting a new compression fitting and replacing the old one.
If the leak is in a section of the tubing, you can't really patch it. You can either replace the whole tubing run, or cut out the leaking section and install a new section of tubing using compression fittings.

If you don't want to go the sweating pipe route and have good access and can see what you are doing, there is some pipe stuff you can buy at hardware stores that you mix together (it is the consistency of clay) and your body heat rolling it together activates it and can be applied like clay to a pipe and hardens in about 20 minutes.

what is this tubing in? an ice maker line for your fridge? a water pipe? a line on an air conditioner? or the thermostat capillary line in the stove? each would be handled a different way. give some more info if you want an answer that will do you any good.
