you can use cement to fill and float the floor(floating is leveling) use a straight board that can span across the small area to ensure leveling. just dont pile so thick that your new tile will be above the existing tile

Use a self leveling floor compound. It is realitivly easy to use and as it states is self leveling, it also cures quickly.You can get it at most hardware supply stores.
