Change the washer in the ball valve that's the one that is about 30mm in diameter. Remember to turn water off first and mind you don't lose any bits.

Water hammer/chattering usually occurs in the hot water pipes.

You may not have a problem in the pipes, but inside the toilet tank, as the fill valves can make such noises.

Lift the cover on the tank and flush it, then listen and watch.

A fill valve on an older toilet can sometimes be repaired, and on newer ones, usually made of plastic, they are easily replaced.

There is a little gasket inside the water supply valve, and it's time to replace it.

Shut off the main water supply to your house, open up a cold water faucet in the lowest point of the house, like a hose bibb, and remove the packing nut from the front of the valve, by unscrewing it with a crescent wrench. You will be able to see a damaged washer, that you can replace.

presuming your talking about your cold pipes and not the waste pipes it will be down to poor installation of your plumbing. an equillibrium float vave fitted in your w.c. cistern should cure it. call a plumber hopefully your in my area and it will be me!
also clipping your pipes reduces the noise caused by WATER HAMMER

Water pressure is too high, turn down the main stop tap a bit until it stops.
