I have heard a lot of people talking about Functuay? Its supposed to be all about the good oras in a house and the way you should decorate and stuff. I apparently dont know how to spell it because I can not find any information on it with the way I am guessing to spell it. Can someone help me?

I bought a used washer & dryer from the classifieds. (Yes I know now... big mistake)
When the washer goes through the spin cycle it leaks somewhere, about a gallon or two of water if it is a large load. I have checked all the hoses and can't find the source...

Then there is the gas dryer, which dries well enough and fast as long as the vent hose is not connected. This however makes the laundry room like a lint-filled sauna. But when we reattach the hose it's like there is not enough air flow and things don't get dry unless we run two cycles. We have tried a couple of different hoses, cleaned the lint accumulation from inside the dryer and checked the wall to make sure the vent to the outside is open. Still stumped!
It is not in the budget to buy a new set nor to call a repair man. I am supporting a family of 4 on just my income so every penny counts. But I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and take things apart. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

I am finishing my basement and I have installed 8 can lights in the family room to replace the 4 exposed 100 watt bulbs. The cans are 75 watt max. The builders wired outlets in our upstairs living room off the basement light fixtures. In other words, the second light fixture in the run downstairs had 14/2 wire coming out from it and heading through the ceiling.

I copied this setup, but my breaker trips each time I flip the light switch on. There is actually less wattage on the breaker now than there was with the previous lights (I haven't run all 8 cans together yet). Why is the breaker tripping?

Thank you!

I had a few ants and sprayed them with Axe body spray. The next day they came back in the millions and looks like they are circleing the Axe body like some kind of fertility god. I introduced some different ants and they bred with them instead of fighting. Everytime I pick up the can they swarm at me.

I don't see it very much as it actually lives at my parents house, I just give it a bit of water every now and then but a couple of months ago it went really floppy. I gave it water but it hasn't perked up. It has also recently grown four new baby cacti from its base and I don't know if it is just dying so the baby ones can grow. I don't know what to do, please help!

I have a hot water tank (in the airing cupboard), plus two open tanks in the loft with ball valves.

The boiler comes on for 20 seconds and then switches off for 1-2 minutes. I recently re-mounted one of the radiator panels, and bled the system (of air).

Our 18 month old has taken to using our white sofa (cotton, with a mildly rough texture) as a canvas for her emerging art skills with a crayon. Any suggestions on how to clean it off? As pretty as it is, it just does not quite go with the decor :)
Thanks for your help!

The problem is that I want to screen in my porch next summer. Right now it climbs up a sort of fencing screen, but the screen provides no protection from mosquitos. If I screen that side in I will not be able to get at the grapes from the porch which is about 5 feet above ground level. Any suggestions? It's a great place to sit with a glass of wine at night.

Are only the gas units money savers? We have been told the electric ones don't save anything because of the amount of electric used when water is heated and that electric is also used when the unit is not. Any knowledge on the subject will be greatly appreacited

I can hear my neighbour's alarm clock in my bedroom, and it wakes me up.

I want to fit some sound insulation to the wall, (which I think is plasterboard surface) losing as little space as possible.

Has anyone tried the Heavy density slab insulation from Wickes? Did it work?

Or has anyone tried any of the Heavy density barrier sheets that can be bought online?

Thanks
