The problem is that I want to screen in my porch next summer. Right now it climbs up a sort of fencing screen, but the screen provides no protection from mosquitos. If I screen that side in I will not be able to get at the grapes from the porch which is about 5 feet above ground level. Any suggestions? It's a great place to sit with a glass of wine at night.

I would consult with the person who will enclose and screen the porch for you. If you want to preserve your enjoyment of that grapevine (sounds wonderful), then for a little more money, I would think an inventive carpenter could build removeable slide-out screen panels for that side of the porch, so that you can harvest the grapes in season.

Have you tried burning citronella torches at night to ward off the mosquitoes? If you space the torches right, the mosquitoes hate the smell of the burning citronella oil and will be fewer in number, although there will stil be those few that brave the fumes and bite you anyway. But it will certainly help.
