Try 2 long needles, get a pincer grip on it and slowly pull it out. Or maybe one needle, stick it into the twig and try to pull it out that way.

OK, use the key from the inside to unlock the door. Open the door, remove the lock (may have to remove the door handles and square spindle...dont loose the screws.) the lock shuold remove from the side of the door with 2 screws., if its a normal mortice lock...(drop into wickes/homebase/B & Q find an older member of staff they will know) UNLESS its a UPVC door...As before, unlock from the inside, open the door, identify the screw that hold the lock in... level with the lock, 1/2 inch below centre, and middle of thickness of the door. Remove screw (dont Loose!) ease the lock out, should slip out easy, you may have to jiggle the key a bit. If you have a friend who will house-sit for you, great, take the lock to your local tyre repair place, put on the maiden in distress pose, ask if they can blow your twig out from other side with an airline. Failing that, take the lock to your local lock-shop, admit to being a plonker, get a new lock to match. If you cant get a friend (you got lots i'm sure) with lock out, turn the key so the little snib sticks out, then draw around it carefully laid on its side (position of snib is critical) Then, stand on end, repeat. Replace the lock, lock the door, and off to your local lock-shop.
My e-mail is on my profile if you need.....
Ok, so means new, different key.... come clean, say what you did...& how you solved it....when mum stops orbiting, you'll have dad smiling (what a clever daughter we got)!!!!!!!

The lock is only held on with two bolts. Take it out, hold it with the keyside facing downward, and tap the side with a hammer a few times. If that does not work, spray some WD-40 into the keyhole, and use a sewing needle to gently work the piece out.

And tell your mom. This is not a big deal.

if you have got in now use the key from the other side of the back door.
If not use chewing gum to stick it to the twig and pull it out dont have to be chewing gum anything sticky will do

Place a drop of super glue on a split popcicle stick thin enough to fit in the lock, it will stick to the twig so you can pull it out.

Maybe try a metal knitting needle, but being a mom, I think you should tell your mom. Believe me, kids get into much worse predicaments, and I'm sure if you tell her the truth, she'll just laugh. A locksmith will be able to fix your lock, and maybe you can offer to help pay for it.

Good luck!

Try using a large sewing needle, dip it in super glue and stick it in the twig, let it dry for a few minutes and pul it out slowly. Good luck.

Just tell your parents what happend. Whats the worst can happen? Will they kill you?
Thats the easier way. Than your daddy will change the lock.

Try pushing a piece of wire or a long needle from the inside.
And be honest with your parents. Good Luck.

Just tell them what happened and let your dad fix it. He can probably get it out very easily. Don't be afraid to admit when you've made a mistake, you could be setting a pattern for the rest of your life.
