We had pretty bad frost in northern CA this year and sadly our lemon tree was damaged by the cold weather as well as the fruits. I took some of the fruits off but the tree looks pretty bad too. I was wondering if its still too early to cut the tree back in order for it to start growing again as soon as the season starts for these trees.

Our 2 labs have killed several rats and schrews (long snouted mice) in the past 2 months. This is a new problem and It is very concerning to me. The dogs have dug huge holes in the yard. Are the rats burrowing themselves under ground? I know moles and schrews live in burrows.
I can safely put out rat poison on the outside of my fenced property which has empty lots and dense natural foliage. I'd like to stop whatever it is from living in my fenced yard area. Since I'm not sure if rats burrow, I don't know how to get rid of the problem.

We just purchased a really nice dinner table set and it is always covered with a vinyl tablecloth because I have kids and I don't want it to get ruined. Well I am having some people over and don't want the beauty of it to be hidden. Since the kids will be asleep by then I would like it to be uncovered, the only thing is that I am serving cocktails and appetizers and don't want the table to get ruined from heat and stains. What affordable options do I have besides placemats, since it is not a sit down dinner? A runner? Potholders (i don't know what they are called but they protect the table from hot dishes)?

When I use the remote, the door starts to close but then stops and the light starts blinking as if there was an obstruction in the object interference beam. However, there is nothing obstructing the track nor the beam area. When I push and hold down the wall mounted "open/close" button, it closes all the way with no stopage or blinking.

Can you hire a maid to just do a few tasks and not the whole cleaning package (ONCE A WEEK)?:

Laundry
Dishes
Change kitty litter

can you get one from a maid service?
Any ideas on what service?

I have washed it off with vinegar, then used "Sno-Proof". I have washed it with soap and water. Nothing seems to work.

okay, so my husband and I took some wood paneling off the wall of our new house because there is sheetrock behind it. It was nailed up and had random glue behind it too. How do we get rid of the glue without ruining the sheetrock so we can paint it?

Okay I have the kind of slider that only one side slides side to side to open. And it leads to a pourch outside. I am looking for the curtains that are very shear and classy and are normally seen in 2 different colors. One color on the sides and another color on the top of the rod. What i am looking for is the name of this kind of curtain and what would the standard size of the slider be? I am moving into a new apartment that is going to have no shades and wanted to just have them to put up so i haven't been able to measure it yet, sounds dumb but hey i'm trying to eliminate some of the easier work! thanks!

I am hoping you can help me. We use BR30 Indoor Reflector Lamp bulbs at work. They only last about 2 weeks. We replacing about 24 bulbs every two weeks.
We have tried different brand bulbs but it dose not seem to matter. Do you have any suggestion as to may be wrong.
One of my guys thought the lights fixtures my be not be making good contact with the bulbs. Or maybe electrical surges? But we were not sure what to do about it.

have forgotten to flush and maybe got up in the middle of the night and added more. I don't remember really. Anyway, I flushed it and it came all the way up but didn't overrun...but a little more and it would have. I fished out the toilet paper and bailed out most of the water. I looked into the tank and the water is there and it looks ok. I want to try to flush it again now that I did all this but scared
that it will overflow and not stop and I wouldn't know what to do.
I have a plunger which I used after I got everything out. I'm trying to get up the courage to flush it again and see what happens. Does anyone have any advice before I do this. I REALLY don't want it to overflow :( Thanks for any help.

I have hot water heating system in my house. I've noticed just recently that I can hear what sounds like water flowing and dripping inside different pipes throughout the house. It's never made this noise before and I've been living there about 2 years now. It only lasts about 10 or 15 minutes then I can't hear it anymore. It sounds like there's a little stream of water dripping from one pipe to another. Is this bad?

I would like to install a toilet in my basement. The room is close to the main drain out to the septic tank but is about 4 feet below it. I'm assuming there is some setup for pumping the matter up to the drain pipe.
