I always start by making the bed...gives you an area that is clean an functional to place things. Then hit your clothes wherever they are, and fold them into organized piles on the bed and put them away or hang them up, organize shoes (under bed if you have no storage space). Dust/wash all surfaces like dresser, pictures, desk, bedside tables, vanity, windex mirrors. Take everything out that does not belong and place outside the bedroom door in a box. Place things away in functional, yet organized manners. Sweep, vacuum, wash floor. Spray down with Lysol or Febreeze. Enjoy.

I am a random cleaner...the best way for me to get it done is to pick up one thing and I can't put it down unless it's being put where it belongs. It helps to start with empty containers to hold the items that belong in other rooms. That way once they're filled up you can bring the whole box (or whatever) to the correct room and empty it there. Bring back to the bedroom and fill again.
It takes me a while, but I usually end up getting the whole apartment cleaned instead of just one room.
Good Luck! The hardest part is starting.

well,I never have a dirty room, but one time I was sick for a week and by the time I got better it was a mess.what I did was grab all the clothes that were on the ground, all the paper and books on the desk.and put them in the hallway,or whatever room is closest to yours is fine.then grab all the garbage and throw it way.you'll be surprised how clean your room looks when there is no garbage.then make your bed (and make it for real) then anything that isn't in place, well, put it in place.after every thing is done vacuum.the room won't look clean till you've vacuumed.

OK,I hope I help.it will take lots of time, but it's so nice to be in a clean room.

every january i do my spring cleaning.... heres how i do it...
set aside a day to really get it done- no excuses!
start by making the bed then throwing everything on top of it so that the floor is clean and (and your closet and drawers too- no just throwing it in the closet) once everything is on the bed really clean the floor and sweep- vacuum- whatever clean out the closet and your drawers so what ever you keep will have a nice clean place to go home to then do what is soooo hard for all of us-
GED RID OF THE STUFF YOU DON'T NEED- IF YOU DON'T US IT AND YOU DON'T HAVE A PLACE FOR IT YOU DON'T NEED IT!
DONATE IT AND MAKE YOU HOUSE MORE COMFORTABLE AND SANE BY NOT HAVING SO MUCH STUFF!
this is really really hard for most people- i understand- but heres what you do next- get a big gargage bag (you know- the huge black heavy plastic bags) and start sorting through all the stuff on your bed- keep and put away what you use and what you have a place to put it away in, and what ever you find that you're like "i forgot i had this..." or "where'd this come from?" goes in the bag. so does all of the clothes you love but never ever wear because they are itchy or the wrong size- ditch them! as well as all the clothes you hate to wear- you know the ones thatare always the last lthings left in the closet because you avoid wearing them? why have them?
once you're back to the bed, all made and beautiful, you're done! now tie up the bag tight and DO NOT REOPEN IT AND GET STUFF OUT! IF YOU DIDN'T NEED IT WHEN YOU PUT IT IN THER YOU REALLY DON'T NEED IT NOW. Now everyehting has been thrown out or put away! and you're bed's already made!
you may need more than one bag- i did when i did my spring cleaning this year- i had 2! but thats good! then all you have left to do is to donate the bag to a local thrift store or charity- you'll feel soooo much better~I promise!
good luck- now reward yourself buy buying a nice candle or some flowers to make your bedroom that much more comfortable~

This is how I clean...
I start at a corner and work out... once you pick a corner, it will be easy

How about starting in the closet of your room, or in the corner and work yourself out of the room? There are all kinds of storage and organization solutions at your local hardware store. Good luck!

i think you should start with your dresser and try putting everything on your bed...that way you HAVE to finish cleaning it or else you cannot go to bed. I always do it that way and I force myself to finish. Depending on what you have in your bedroom. Try your dresser, you computer area, your closet and then your bed.
