I looked it up on a chart and for the screw I'm supposed to drill the pilot hole with a 7/64 drill bit. I own a 3/32 and a 1/8. So, is it better to go a little bigger or a little smaller?

I am buying a house, and all of the appliances are old, and need to be replaced. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best brand to buy?

I've looked it up on-line, and I think with the help of my friend who went to veteran's school for awhile, we can do it.

I made a terrible mistake.. I had him neuterd at 6 months old, and he is now 4.

He is the most amazing cat, and I NEED more.

It's a mirror that weighs 8.8 lbs... The directions suggest that I put it on stud in my wall. I don't have a stud finder, and I have heard that there are special screws you can buy that support heavier weights... This is drywall... Thanks!

... install carpet by ourselves over tile floor?
Should I rather buy an area rug?
This is for our 9 month old daughter's nursery.
I had decided on the carpet because she loves to chew on anything, and I bet she'd chew on the rug too!
So I'd like to know how hard could it be for us to install carpet by ourselves? (the kind of carpet that comes in sections)
Thanks very much!

the upper half is painted, the bottom is tiled. The floor is ceramic tiles in a blueberry-charcoal color. The room is small and light is good through a medium window. What colors would work with the faded pink color of the tub, etc? I love rich color.

Is there a right way to do this? Should you install cabinets over the new tile, or tile the floor after the cabinets are installed?

Please answer because I'm thinking about purchasing at least one of these this week. I have green walls and hardwood floors and I'm going to put a 9x12 rug down.

So tell me would it work or is it a no no?

My husband I are having this debate right now. How it be cheaper in the long run to put in hardwood floors (Which I have read have a 25 year warranty on them.) or is it cheaper to put in carpet, but replace the carpet every 3 to 5 years, or even to lift up the carpet to get out all the dirt collected underneath the carpet and padding? Thanks!!

A few days ago my disposal started making a noise like it was caught, something was down there, or it was about to break. However, I checked it with a flashlight like 10 times and there is absolutely nothing down there. I live in an apartment and they said if I say it's broken I will have to pay a plumber. How can I know what to do?

I just moved into this house a little over a year ago. This is the way they decorated the kitchen. The wallpaper has got to go! The backsplash is also wallpaper.
The kitchen is highly visible as you can see from the pics. There is a long hall and you have to walk by the kitchen to get to the living room. Thats where I took the picture from. I like the green that is in the dining room and in the living room. The hallway is beige. They chose the wallpaper to match these colors but I don't like wallpaper. I need some ideas on what to do with the kitchen so that it will still blend since these rooms are all together. I love earth tones. Any ideas?

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A RENTAL PROPERTY. IT WAS BUILT IN 1926. THERE IS STILL A FRIGDE FROM 1929 IN THERE. IT HAS NO COMPRESSOR AND WAS USED AS STORAGE FOR POTATOES AND STUFF LIKE THAT. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CURRENT VALUE WITH NO COMPRESSOR? AND WHAT WOULD THE VALUE BE IF I PUT A COMPRESSOR IN? THE APPLIANCE IS IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION. THANKS

So. My husband made a strawberry cake, got angry with it sticking to the pan and decided it would be a good idea to pound the door as punishment.

He hit the plate,tempered-glass door.

Crap.

So,instead of replacing the thing (which isn't the best thing in the world to have in a house full of wood floors and linolieum with my paranoid instincts, anyway. And a great dane) we're going to go the way of a pair of doors that open out into the room beyond it. Does anyone have any idea how I'd go about doing that? Obviously a lot of measuring is involved. If anyone could help me out here,I'd -really- appreciate it. =)

I'm looking to purchase a 1000 SF panelized house by AllPro building system which will be shipped by semi to my state. Certain panels of the house are already pre-assembled in a factory environment, but, I have no idea how long it will take a general contractor/carpenter to assemble or build the real thing on site. Anyone have any ideas? It's a moderately simple design, one floor which will either be slab on grade or sonotube/concrete footing construction.

The plant used to be so beautiful, flowering in the spring with purple flowers. Now I'm afraid that there may be no help for it. It looks like tiny little black dots that turn the leaves yellow and crackly and eventually the leaves die. New leaves continue to form and I think that is a good sign, however, I'm noticing that they too have little dots on them. Does anyone know of a product that I can use? It's notable to add that I live in Japan and don't readily have access to a home depot, etc. However I have access to similar stores in Japan, if someone knows what I can do to save my plant. Thanks!
