the upper half is painted, the bottom is tiled. The floor is ceramic tiles in a blueberry-charcoal color. The room is small and light is good through a medium window. What colors would work with the faded pink color of the tub, etc? I love rich color.

use a shade of grey for the upper half of the walls that is slightly lighter than the charcoal tile on the floor. but make sure that it is not too pale or it will look washed out beside the faded pink. use punches of black or maroon red in the room, ie: picture frames and artwork, vases(put some bamboo canes in them), soapdish, towels, etc. If you have room, put a large maroon-leaved rubber plant in the room in a floor-standing grey pot. Change light switch and outlet covers and cabinet hardware to a pewter or brushed aluminum. frame the mirror in black. if the vanity is wood finish, I would sand it down and paint the same shade of grey as the walls. What color is the vanity counter? if youre not happy with it you can also get special paint that you can redo it with; dark charcoal grey similar to whats on the floor would be a good choice for it. If the ceiling is white, I would change it to a dove grey.

make everything white as possible & trim it in baby pink. my daughter rented an apt. in november of '06 & its beautful , except she has your ugly bathroom!!Walls, rug, towels, shower curtain, everything we did in white & things like shower hooks, sm. hand towels, candles in baby pink. try a focal point like bright white lacey curtains to look at when u first walk in would be nice too
