I just bought a really nice wooden cutting board to sit on my counter top. Now I am thinking that it maybe was wasted money, since I really did not need to have one to cut vegetables with. I am wanting anybody's opinion if it is really useful or unnecessary?

Also , can you wash it in the dishwasher safely? It just seems so clumsey .

i just bought a two bedroom cottage $30,000. Needs a great deal of updating, new furnace, a/c, roof, windows. Kitchen is I would guess from the 40's or earlier. Cabinet doors are thin with the edges rounded off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I want a clean house I can have people over to, but I HATE cleaning. I do the dishes and cook, wash & dry the laundry (do not hang or fold clothes!) but thats about the extent. What are some ways to help me get over this? Yes, it is laziness.

If the key sometimes spins in the lock without actually unlocking the door is it the barrel that is likely to be worn or the mechanism in the door itself?

If it's the barrel then it's simple enough to replace. If it's the door then I've no idea...

I have a tub/shower with no back wall. There is oval tub enclosure with a shower curtain hanging from the ceiling. When the shower is running, water flows down the front wall after splashing off of the person in the shower. The water runs along the top of the tub and will flow to the left and the right. If it goes to the left, it drains into the tub. If it goes to the right, it runs down the outside of the tub and onto the floor, where it leaks through to the kitchen ceiling. It seems that the tub was installed slightly crooked, but fixing that would be cost prohibitive for now. Is there any fixture or door that could be installed that would fix this? Something that would possibly run along the wall where the faucet, spigot, and shower head are, then curve around to follow the edge of the tub so that water cannot get out? Or is there an easier fix out there?

I decided to paint my powder room in shades of lt gold, bronze and brown. I am still undecided what exact paint colors - but my question is about the technique. Any suggestions you've tried that are not too difficult and turn out well? Also how do you deal with corners and wall near the ceiling?

Thanks?

I havea Potterton EP3002 boiler which is failing intermittently . The hot water part is ok but th C.H. is very unreliable, I have to keep re-igniting the pilot as when it all fires up for the Ch everything goes out.The coupler has been replaced.
If I need a new boiler and I expect I will be told I do, what type do I need and how much. Detatched, insulated house. 4Bed. Dble Glazed.10 Radiators.

I have a decision to make. I'm going to redo my room this summer. But should I do a more moden, trendy room or a historical room that I really want. I've been dreaming of a historical room, but I want something I can show off. Which should should I choose and, more importantly, WHY??

We have knocked out a couple of walls in our kitchen to have an open concept, we need to make the wire on our electrical outlet longer so we can move it over and have it in a post instead of the location it was before we knocked out the wall, so we need to add more wire and install a junction box, I've been trying to find a good website that will show us exactly how to install a junction box, but haven't found any, can someone explain to us how to do this, or give me a website I can go to?
Thank you in advance!
