I decided to paint my powder room in shades of lt gold, bronze and brown. I am still undecided what exact paint colors - but my question is about the technique. Any suggestions you've tried that are not too difficult and turn out well? Also how do you deal with corners and wall near the ceiling?

Thanks?

A good technique for these colors would be a dry brush technique. Start with the brown for the base color and dry brush the metallic colors next mixed with a glazing liquid. I'll post a link for you to see how to do dry brushing, it's easy and beautiful with the colors you picked. As far as the corners, don't worry, just use a smaller brush. Besides, it's just paint, if you make a mistake, just paint over it when dried and try again. Have fun, bet it will look great.

A good technique for painting is to sponge it onto the wall with your gold, bronze, and brown. This creates a very warm feeling. This way you can use all three colors. All you have to do is paint the room gold first, then take a sponge and press the bronze and the brown on top of the gold layer. You do this all the way around the room. To get the corners by the ceiling, just take a step ladder and reach up there and sponge it. Good luck!

I have done sponge painting and I have used a feather duster both are fun and if you start out light you can add more! Just be sure to dab off some of the excess paint on an old newspaper or rag so it isn't to heavy on either the sea sponge or the duster! Also have used cellophane (saran wrap like for food) paint the wall lay a long sheet of wrap on the wall on sort of smooth it- it will be wrinkly you don't want it to be smooth and then peel it off right away and it sort of gives it a leather like look! Experiment on some old cardboard boxes laid flat then you will get a better idea of what effects you will like!!Have fun with it!!
