My neighbor's tree has a major branch that has been growing into my backyard for years. It is causing the entire backyard to be shaded and cold. We want it cut so it is on their property only. What are the rules on this. I think they should have to cut it down, not us. It would cause a LARGE cleanup (it is so big).I would be very friendly about the whole thing. Any legal advice?

I have very old bathroom floor tiles! They are 1 inch gray squares and are hideous! I want to lay new flooring but I don't want to remove the old stuff (we only have 1 BA and 3 users so it would be very inconvenient!) Any suggestions for laying a floor over it and properly sealing it? Is this even possible? I'm looking for anything! Concrete, laminate, tile, brick, ANYTHING!!! Please help!

I have been plagued with a mouse problem since October. I have spent over $150 on this dang thing and I still have a problem with mice in the walls. I seem to have gotten it so they cannot enter my apartment but I hear them clawing the walls. I tried mothballs, my whole apt stinks of mothballs including my clothes and still they won't go. I found a site on the computer that Peppermint Oil works to repel them and that is more pleasant than mothballs but don't want to spend the money if it isn't going to work.

This morning, we started noticing a burnt plastic smell (primarily in our bathroom and kitchen) when the furnace is running. You can sort of smell it in other rooms, but it is more prevalent in the bathroom and kitchen. We have a gas furnace. Any ideas on what could cause this?

Can someone help me estimate the hourly operating cost of a
10 SEER heat pump at $.066/kwh? This would be just the heat pump and indoor fan running. I do know the heat pump is 220 volt. The fan probably just runs on 110 volts?

While I won't get into the reasons why, I ended up drywalling my walls in a small sitting room in my basement before doing the ceiling. The walls have since been painted. What are my options for installing drywall in the ceiling and what types of roadblocks may I encounter when doing so?

When you turn the knob to the left, it initiates cold water and to the right is hot. Basically it's backwards and seems that the original plumber or installer connected hot to cold and visa versa. The catch here is that it is a "stand up" shower, so I cannot access the wall behind the water mixer w/o removing the entire shower unit (basin?). If it's possible to correct this, I would prefer to, as guests are constantly fighting the mixer. Thanks!

I just got a dresser and chest of drawers. I need several rolls of contact shelf paper, around 18' x 50'. Where is a good place to get it at wholesale price? I checked online, but I can't find anything less than $65 plus shipping. Is that about how much it costs? What do other people do for dresser drawers, etc? Thanks.

I'll need to move about 3 truckloads of pea gravel from my driveway to my backyard. I do't want to do too much damage to my existing lawn, and I don't know if I can drive a Bobcat or not (probably not). Should I just hire someone or is there a smaller machine to rent that will do the 'grunt' work for me? TIA!
