Can someone help me estimate the hourly operating cost of a
10 SEER heat pump at $.066/kwh? This would be just the heat pump and indoor fan running. I do know the heat pump is 220 volt. The fan probably just runs on 110 volts?

Ok yeah how much it's going to cost to heat your home is not what I'm asking..obviously that depends on many factors. I just want to know how much it takes to operate the heat pump for one hour at the above electric rate. The heat pump and fan draw the same amount of electricity whether it's 30 degrees or 50 degrees or whether your house has good windows or no windows at all.

The variables used to calculate the cost of operation are variables that change from one family to the next. It depends on where you set the thermostat, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, insulation on your home, power company rates, and many more factors. I can tell you this, operating a heat pump is about 25% of the cost of resistive heat elements only. You are lucky to have a heat pump rather than straight electrical resistive elements.

You should find the answer in the owners manual or on a label. You might have to go to a manufacturer's web sight to find a manual.
