If you know the brand of hardwood check to see if they make a matching filler. Several of the major brands make matching fillers. If not try to get a matching filler from a hardware store or a big box outlet. Get a plastic Knife to spread the filler. If deep do a small amount at a time. It is better to be lower than higher of the surrounding wood. Go slow until you get the feel for it. Remember be lower not higher. Since wood has several color streaks most dents can be hidden with the plastic wood filler.

Robert,
You can get the dents out if they aren't to bad.. but it isen't easy to do..
You will have to strip the area where the dent is and not to far over the edge of the dent.. just inside the dent is good.. Use sand paper which is about an 80 grit..
Then pour water into the dent and let stand untill the dent is raised.. This may or may not work, but when I worked in the QC department at a furniture shop, this is what we used to do before throwing the piece out.. then let it dry and revarnish..

that will depend on "what type of floor" that hardwood is made of. Real wood or compressed paper. Really the best bet is going to the flooring store that has the exact product and ask there.

Put a few drops of water onto the "wound" Wet down a piece of rag, Then take a warm to hot tip of a regular Iron to the rag applying it to the "wound" . That moistue will swell out the wood to its original shape. Just let it dry afterwards. Dont get too hot on the iron and of course keep that rag wet between the iron and "wound" . Thats an old known method for swelling out damage to wood so dont give me credit for this one.

The only way I know is to have them sanded down to the level of the bottom of the dents, then refinished with varnish or some other coating.

elevating the timber grain is one answer despite if that's much less useful. Filling it in is yet another yet much less eye-catching. to advance the timber grain, the seal could desire to be broken gently so sand the timber to the bare grain then stick to warm water just to the area to be raised and use a med. warm iron a million/2" from the outdoors to warmth the water. enable sit down for an afternoon, if the grain isn't raised sufficient, attempt returned. in keeping with how deep this is going, you will possibly could desire to do it as quickly as extra or upload filler and seal returned. examine your guarantee regardless of the undeniable fact that, it could be voided with the help of doing any of the above. touch the producer for different techniques. own journey.
