My last answer, just a minute ago is my opinion. AND valid. There are no miracle products that will give you satisfactory results in painting, tile, or mica type laminates. The substance of either isn't designed to accept or HOLD paint, and besides that on a "work" surface, which a bathroom counter top truly is, the abrasions will be discouraging to you, after expending the effort.

If you need a quick fix just to cover it pick up some contact paper. Now listen if you go online and hunt for adhesive paper you should be able to find a thicker type of material we use to use on our old soft drink machines. Yes, years ago there was a wood grain pattern on these machines and it was contact type paper only thicker. We use to use it on our counters at work and it lasted for years. Now you've got me wanting some again. If you are worried about a place you are renting and their is heat nearby the surface then you might want to resurface every 6 months to one year. Remember, to use Goo Gone to remove adhesive residue. Apply with a paper towel but use a wet wash clothe to wipe over the surface. Wear gloves.

Well I know my ex painted his bathtub once and it peeled really bad :)
Why not go and get some tile and just reservice it?.. you would have to see if you can stip it of the old formica first.. Heck I had a green formica top and hated it, I couldn't afford a new counter, so I took a long old dresser and got some ply wood and serviced it with tile.. Came out gorgous!!
Good luck
Good luck..

I was going to paint mine last winter.....but I got estimates for counter top resurfacing....and found out that resurfacing wasn't nearly as expensive as I thought. I also had my vanities and cabinets resurfaced and new raised panel doors installed and they look GREAT!
YES...you CAN paint the counter tops if you want.....and that comes right from the guy who resurfaced mine...BUT...sand them down first so that the paint will adhere....and use that special paint they have for Formica type counters.
My 2 cents?.....Have them resurfaced.
You can pick from a ton of colors from Formica or Wilsonart...and you'll never regret it. They'll look like a million bucks.
Good luck!

you ought to....despite if it wouldnt look sturdy OR final. Formica is made as a low fee option to unquestionably countertops. maximum suitable to not tile over formica, the bond wont carry for long and it will look retarded. portray over it will be even WORSE. Sorry, youll could desire to do it the suited way.
