I am still using one of those traditional heavy weight metallic irons, but I find ironing stains on the flat iron part kinda "ironed in", whats the best way to remove those stains that it doesnt transfer to my clothes?

thx

hi. i live in a townhouse. when i came home at 5PM today, i realized that there was a beeping sound coming from somewhere. first, i did not really hear it, and i thought that it was just someone down the block's house beeping. however, i went outside and realized that it was coming from someone's apartment, about 1 townhouse away. i have never seen this person in the house, and there is no one in the house. i tried calling the managment, but they didn't pick up. any suggestions? what should i do?

I am looking for basical 12x12 corkboard tiles - people often use them for flooring. I went on Lowes and Home Depot sites but they didn't have anything. Do they have them in store by any chance? Where else would you look for them?

Purchased my house, a 1920s Tudor Revival--not English Tudor--and there's very little info about what the interior style of these homes would have been like. Can anyone offer any ideas on how to decorate but keep the character of the house?

1st floor--front door opens to small entry, then immediately into the living room (stairs to the left of entry). LR flows into DR (open floor plan--I think shelf/divider was removed at some point). doorway into small, but updated kitchen w/ oak cabinets (hate them--what do you think of creamy white?)

Also, I have a window at the front which wraps around the side. 3 rows and 3 columns ( think MS Word table function, LOL). Think it's original?

Thanks in advance!

I notice in my new house that the shower has a very long and perfect bead of translucent caulk...and the question I have...Which is the best product to use?
(The shower is like fiberglass) ...
Too many choices...Silicone I, Silicone II...and is it better to use a caulking gun or just use those products where you hand apply?
Thanks!

it will start to come down then act like if something tripped it and go back up, but the light doesn't flash like it does when its tripped. It only does it when its below 40 degrees. Thanks for your time.

I have water pressure issues. My pressure at any faucet is good until I us another faucet. For example, when I'm in the shower and someone flushes the toilet, I lose pressure and hot water in the shower. Some times when I'm in the shower and someone flushes the toilet I lose cold water and pressure. I lose pressure in all my facets, and the toilets fill slow when I'm using another facet. I have gas heat for and a new hot water heater. I figured it may be that my hot water heater was bad or small (30 gal). I had it replaced with a new one that is 50 gal. The problem has been this way since I bought the house some 5 years ago.

My New TV seems to reset itself(turn off then right back on) randormly recently. I thought it was the TV until it happend tonight and we had the DVD player and reciever on too (same outlet) and they turned off and back on too. Now I know its not the TV and was wondering if replacing the circuit beaker for that receptical could solve the problem. Never had a circuit breaker act like this before, but I don't know what else to check.

and you can even see the water on the wall, the water goes to about half way up the wall from the floor. I had always worried that the building had some serious issues the landlord was trying to hide, but I am really worried. Whats going to happen if this doesnt get taken care of? How serious is it? She has complained of water on her floors in 3 rooms of the house and this has been going on for months, do we need to be worried about mold? We are going to move in a couple of months, but I dont want the damn building caving in or something crazy. Help! I should add the landlord is a cheap p.o.s and will not fix anything so chances are nothing will be done about the issue.

I was told for a beginner it is easier for someone to hang drywall vertically, but I suspect that this would highly increase the odds for a crack from ceiling to floor. I have always seen it hung horizontally and would think that that is the proper way.
