it will start to come down then act like if something tripped it and go back up, but the light doesn't flash like it does when its tripped. It only does it when its below 40 degrees. Thanks for your time.

when it gets cold , metals contracts, on the opener ; there is a torque setting for open and a torque setting for closing. you can adjust them for more torque.

When this happened to one of my friends, the only thing we could think of was that the spring in the manual button was weak and a drop in temperature would cause intermittent connections which would randomly open or close the door. Changed the switch and the ghosts went away.

Our doors do the same thing. My husband thinks when my dad install the tracks he set them in cement. The tracks then cannot move right when it gets cold. Is that a possible answer???

had this happen only once in my experience......the drop in temp caused the springs to tighten( cold makes metal shrink)...all we did was loosen the springs just a bit and it worked fine......
