My dryer will not put out hot or warm air while drying. We have unclogged the vent and blew it out with a shop vac, but still have this problem. Is the only thing that could be wrong a heating element? Or is there many more things that could be wrong? If it's the heating element how hard is it to change?

I have before. My mother warned me about it while I was washing my dishes. I was like mama I know what I'm doing trying to play it cool. Well, next thing I knew when I was finished washing the dished I went to the bathroom and saw my shirt in the mirror! A perfectly nice looking shirt ruined by my all time rival in household cleaners. Lol. Over the years I've gotten nice clothes ruined because of it.

I'm not sure how this happened but I have a door that has pulled away from the frame at the top. There's two hinges that attach the door to the frame and they are recessed into the frame (there's a spot cut out of the door frame for the hinge as when it closes, the door needs to be flush with the wall.

Since it's recessed, it's not easy to move the hinge up or down. The places where the screws attach the hinge to the wall are stripped out completely. As I see it my options are to try to patch the screw holes or use larger screws. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

My kitchen's ceiling lights are warm fluorescent tubes. Is it okay to have under cabinet lights of color temperature different from that of fluorescent, like halogen lights? Or, are there any non-fluorescent under cabinet lights that have the same color temperature of warm fluorescent kitchen light?

I have bought some rather fancy stainless steel lights for under the cabinets in my kitchen. The light is in a sealed unit and has two wires coming out of it. I have the 4W ballast and starter but I am not sure how to wire it up with only 2 inputs to the light fitting. Can anyone help?

I bought this used couch and they sold it to me with the slip cover. The slip cover is too big and is made for a couch with big, heavy arms that go to the end. Anyways, because of all of this, the cushions are CONSTANTLY falling away from the couch and it is driving me nuts. I am sick of having to fix them everytime I get up.

Anyone have a suggestion to keep the cushions in place on the couch?

I read that you need to save about 60 pounds of honey in the hive to get a hive of bees through the winter. Does the milder winter weather in Florida affect this at all--if so, how many frames of honey should I leave in over "winter" to get them through?

I have a 2-story townhouse (3 BR, 1330 sq. ft.). The indoor part of the unit is upstairs. When it is cold out (probably 35F or less) the heat pump only blows air without heat and it's freezing in my house, especially downstairs. The unit and house are only 11 years old. The volts say 208/230 and horsepower is 1/2.

How can I get it to be warm again? My living room/kitchen are unbearable to be in. I am planning to have the ductwork cleaned and the heat pump coils cleaned next week. But I know that can't be all. Help!

an owner of a unit (yet to be determined), put cat litter down the drain and caused over $50K in damage to another unit. the condo association insurance company has declined coverage because the association was not at fault. the plumber has said that the clog was caused by kitty litter. now the association is going to impose a special assessment or increase dues on the entire condo unit in order to pay for the repairs. i should not have to pay for someone else's intentional act. and i'm sure putting kitty litter down the drain is against CCR or condo rules. can i fight this?

I'll try to make this as simple as I can. We have an underground storage cistern between our well and house. For reasons I can explain (if necessary) the cistern was pumped dry. Now it has been refilled, but the in house pump cannot draw water from it. Our plumber has suggested that the stand pipe in the cistern, for some reason, has not re-primed, and we must uncover the cistern and reprime the stand pipe. Any comments or suggestions? Our plumber, while good, admits he is NOT an expert on wells or cisterns.

I have a 1985 Mobile home, 3 bedroom/2 bath, I bought my cousins 3bd/2bath for $1200. I added it to mine. I tore out a side wall a parked his backwards into mine, I now have a 6 bedroom 4 bath house. The problems are 1. electrical 2. plumbing 3. leaking/rainwater. 1st electrical, I have ran extension cords from the main house to each room, so every room has an outlet, we kept tripping over the cords so we have fixed that by taping the cords to the walls and ceiling..any advise? The leaking is happening where we joined the 2 homes together, I used about 40 tubes of calking but it still leaks like hell...any suggestions (we've tried covering everything with plastic..it's blows off)
Plumbing...how do I tie the water lines together?..How do I get the toilets to go to the septic? What we have here is a "T" shaped house, mine goes long ways and the addition starts in the middle and goes out from there. It's a real nice set up...but we are have these problems

We are looking into building a house in the Oklahoma City area and are wondering how much it might cost to have the electrical and plumbing professionally installed throughout the house. It is approximately 3072 sq feet, with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Any ideas would be great...I'd call around, but we are currently stationed in Japan and just trying to plan for when we go back home soon. Thanks!
