I read that you need to save about 60 pounds of honey in the hive to get a hive of bees through the winter. Does the milder winter weather in Florida affect this at all--if so, how many frames of honey should I leave in over "winter" to get them through?

Check with a local bee keeper. They tend to be friendly folks and are willing to share what they know.
