I got a used metal file cabinet with a lock, but without the key and I want to replace the lock. I removed the drawers and unhooked the piece attaching the lock tumbler to the metal pulley system that engages the drawers when locked. There is a metal clip attached to the tumbler, however, that I cannot remove. I have tried using a pliers and a screwdriver; nothing seems to work! How do I remove the clip so I can remove the lock? Do I even need to remove the clip to remove the lock?

Several weeks ago, I cut a one foot square hole in my drywall and vapor barrier to make a plumbing repair. As warm air has now had a chance to infiltrate the insulation, and perhaps cause condensation, should I wait until spring to repair it, and thus not trap whatever condensation may have occurred . Or, am I worrying about nothing, and should repair it immediately to prevent further unnecessary heat loss?

We are about to put in countertops and I wanted granite, but it's too expensive. I've been told Travertine is excellent for kitchen/bath countertops. I've also read that it is horrible for countertops because it is a limestone. I really need clarification about travertine. Thanks.

I have a little less than 1/4 tank of heating oil and the company cannot come out until Wednesday. Should I pay the extra for them to come out on an emergent basis or should it be okay. Temperatures are in the 40's during the day and maybe 20's in the evening.

For a week, I had a houseguest who smoked (I didn't mind), but now the house smells not exactly smoky, but "stale". Will the smell of smoke dissipate on its own after a time?

I'm from Los Angeles, and have smoked weed from Colorado, Oregon, and New Mexico. But for some reason I can't get enough of that California stciky icky. I especially love the weed from Humboldt county. I was told that Humboldt was the weed capitol of the U.S. Anyway, what is it about California that makes the marijuana so delightful?

I'm in a dorm with 3 other guys. there are two bathrooms. The one I use always gets a water ring around it after a while. So it has to be cleaned often. So I was wondering if I should use 2000 flushes to help prevent the ring. The Blue one, because I like the blue color water.

Have you used it? If so what are your reviews of it. The pros and cons of it.

Is it safe to use? Will it mess up the toilet. Because I don't have extra $$$$ to pay to my college, if it needs to be fixed.

I've read that you're supposed to take your hoses indoors during winter. I've always left mine outside, and yet they've always worked just fine in the spring. I live in the Upper Midwest, so I know it gets cold enough to freeze.

I am buying a new condo--it's a deal that fell through and the original buyers opted for a white ceramic tile with white grout countertop--would not have been my first choice! Is there some type of sealer I can apply that will help keep that white grout clean and unstained? Thanks.
