Go to the Hometime site and order their DVD guide to ceramic flooring. I actually took the DVD out on loan from our local library, and found it to be a great help to anyone wanting to install ceramic tile flooring.

First you need to determine (find ) the center of the room. Then snap a chalk line across the room in the center and length wise. Place your first tile dead center on the lines and work out to the sides putting two spacers at each side near the corner of each tile Until all the tiles left need to be cut. now you need a tile cutter to finish the job. Which you can rent. after you have laid all the tile remove the spacers and fill them with grout.

find center of room, pop line, find center in the other direction and pop line.....where they intersect is center.....DRY lay ur tile to make sure that u r not going to end up with a tiny piece at the walls....u might need to adjust the center line to prevent this....

tip: do a small area at a time and remove any thin set that comes up between the tile RIGHT THEN, u will think me later for that, lol.....
