It depends on which room you are painting the walls in. For kitchens and bathrooms you would want a semi-gloss or something that is easy to wash off. For bedrooms or living rooms that type of room, I like matte or eggshell finish. I really can't stand any paint with a glare to it. They do make washable eggshell paint. Also get water based.

Almost any latex paint unless you want an alkyd flat enamel, a far more durable surface. However not all stores sell alkyd flat enamel. Sherwin Williams does and I think Dulux does, and those would be classified as industrial finishes.

I would not use any behr paint even to paint the inside of a garbage can and I don't like Benjamin Moore. You will find the wall paints at Lowes the easiest to put on, not so much drag on the roller or the brush.

I have found most of the paints sold at hardware stores, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. to all be fine. But you need to match your paint to the room--i.e. you need a pearl or enamel finish for bathrooms, you might want a pearl finish for kids bedrooms since it is easier to wash, and most decorators prefer flat for living rooms, dining rooms, etc. I find latex to be just fine and it washes up with soap and water. Ask the guys in the paint dept--they love to give advice! Also the secret to a successful paint job is good preparation. Make sure you remove all switchplates, towel bars, etc.-- don't be lazy!!

According to Consumers Guide it's Behr paint. Home Depot carries it, but I had my house recently painted and used Benjamine Moore, which is more expensive. Found out about Behr afterwards:{

Hey...do you have kids? and what part of the house?....if you have kids a semi-gloss is easier to clean than a matte. But, a back wall behind the TV where there is no access to, a matte finish does'nt show a "shine" when it is nice outside.....lots of options......good luck!
