I have recently moved into a house & there is a huge eucalyptus tree in the back garden that I really don't like, its taller than the house, does anyone have any idea how much it will cost to get it chopped down. I don't mind leaving the trunk, its just all the leaves & branches I can't stand.

What is some issues why the vents aren't blowing in enough heat in just his room, and yes the vents are open.
My son's room is the one that is on the front right side of house above the garage. Also this house is a tri-level so the furnace always seems to run.
We are in a rental and I already had the landlady have the furnace inspected, but I don't know if the guy was just saying it was fine to please the landlady.
Has anyone had this problem with one room being the coldest in your home? Thanks

I have no idea how they came but they are right behind the gas hob across 3 tiles. I have tried Cif and bicarb but nothing doing! They are metallic in appearance.

I was varnishing a door and some of the varnish must have spilled onto the laminate flooring. I walked through it and over the floor. How can i get this off?

Alright. Through a series of many questions I have learned that my diet of fruits, veggies, cottage cheese, yogurt, and protein shakes is very unhealthy. Will someone give me a balanced plan of what exactly i should be eating at each meal to have essential nutriton, enough calories to work out, and also help my lose weight?

I work at a homeless shelter and we got 5 bucket of this laundry detergent that clumps up when you put it in the washer and it clumps your clothes together so we can't use it. But there has to be a way to use it and it not ruin the machine or clump the clothes together. So do you have a suggestion? I'm trying to save the clients who live here money so they don't have to go buy laundry detergent.

It's like pegboard without the pegs. Less like a wood, more like super-heavy duty cardboard. Anyone know what it is called?

I don't do the WARM program where you pay the same all year. Is it normal to have a gas bill as high as $150 in the winter and low as $30 in the summer when all you are using the gas for is the water heater? Why?

i recently bought a house where the entire 1st floor is a drop ceiling. So i have took it upon myself to update my house and install a normal ceiling.. i have an idea about what i am doing but i am still uncertain about my plan. These are the facts. the drop ceiling is about 10" lower than the joists of the upper floor. there are plumbing pipes that run under the joists that are suspended but only about an 1" lower than the joists.. still leaving over 8 " of unused space above the tiles. so my plan is to run 2x4's perpendicular to the joists every 16" OC using brackets for support. so. that is my plan. iv'e obviously never done this before but i'm hoping that it will work. if anyone has ever done this type of work or has any knowledge about it. any pointers/advice/do's-don'ts would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Online sources are very abundant on information about cutting bits off your piece of glass, but how about cutting a chunk out of the middle?

I repaired a long crack in my wall with plaster. The repair is now smoothe and I would like to apply some texture material to blend it in with the rest of the knockdown-type texture. Is there a way to apply the texture material without a gun and compressor to spray it on? I don't want to buy a compressor just for this one little job.

This is for the kitchen...We are going to paint the walls a rich tan called "cashmere". The cabinets are being stained a deep red cherry color and the floors are bamboo that have the same color as the cabinets as well as dark striations in it. We are looking at doing a corian counter top with a beige theme. All the appliances are black.

The kitchen is large and open and the flooring is going into the adjacent room that will be painted a chocolate color, this is a game room/family room and it is also very large.

So the question is, what do you think about painting the trim in the kitchen BLACK? we really want some input on this. the rest of the house has cashmere paint and WHITE trim. The family room will be chocolate with white trim. we have been debating every aspect of this kitchen for months and it is getting tiresome.

We have brushed nickle hardware if that means anything to you and lots of windows.

I am trying to make a shelving unit for my dvds and cds. Instead of shelves I wanted to use dowel sticks to hold them. My problem is that when put together the top is the correct width and the bottom is correct. The middle however goes outward and when I try to attach the dowel sticks, with screws, across, the screws do not attach them to the sides. They continue to turn even with a drill. They never tighten and just pop out. What do I do?
