I accidentally put a plastic colliander down on a hot plastic burner, and now the plastic is stuck on. I've tried scraping, peeling and chipping it off, but nothing has worked. A friend told me to just let it heat up and burn off, but I don't want to deal with the fumes, and my fire alarm is very sensitive- I don't want to be that jerk who makes the whole apartment complex clear out. Any ideas on how I get the plastic off? I'd rather not use harsh chemicals if I don't have to.

This may sound like a silly question, but I have four 32 gal rubbermaid cans that are in great shape, but the lids have all gone to pieces from sun exposure. I can't find replacement lids. At Wal-Mart, you have to buy an entire new can to get a new lid. I hate to spend the money and create that much more waste for the planet when the cans are still perfectly good. Any ideas?

The drywall in my bathroom around the shower has cracked probably due to too much moisture. It has been painted with latex paint. Any suggestions on how to repair this? I really don't want to have to tear it out or replace it, but would like to be able to maybe sand or fill in the crack. Thanks for your help

help! My dark red corduroy couch has little white pieces of fabric all over the seats. I don't think it's actual pills from the fabric but little pieces of other fabric stuck to the couch, and they won't come off with duct tape or a lint roller. What can I do to take them off? I want my couch to last for a long time :(

I have plastic self adhesive wire runners going up my wall and accross my ceiling for surround sound speaker wires. I want to remove these and drill through my floor instead. What can I inject behind the self ahesive strip on the runners to disolve the glue so it does not pull my paint off when I try to remove them?
Thanks

I spilled some hair dye on the linoleum floor of my bathroom. I wiped it up as soon as it spilled, but it still left a dark stain. Is there a way to remove this without redoing the floor? I have a rented apartment, and my landlord will kill me if I move out and leave it there.

I have been researching this for a while now. I cannot seem to find a really good air purifier that is not very bulky, yet can accomodate 320 sq foot room and has good quality. For example, Whirlpool's air purifiers seem to have great reviews. For they only have models for 450 and 500 sq feet room and they are very bulky. I see many tower models, but they are mostly small (for rooms less than 200 sq feet). Please help. Thanks.
