I recently bought a franchise for an ice cream store. We had slip resistant quarry tile put in the back of the house. It's apprently some new super slip resistant floor. However, whatever is in the floor that makes it slip resistant is shredding the mops when they go over the floor. I know the obvious alternative is deck-brushing and squeegeing every night, but what about nights that the floor doesn't require a deck brushing? The mop shreds and leaves little "mop lint" all over the place.

I like the idea of replacing my indoor furnace and outdoor AC unit with a heat pump, but when I call AC companies for an estimate, everyone recommends against it. They say it won't be as efficient. Why not?

I couldn't pass up this little pub set (it is adorable) because it was so cheap, like $250.00 for the table and four stools... but it is in a light maple color (i dont know the color im not a wood person), but it totally would clash with our dining room floor and walls (which are a deep brown)... We wanted to stain it a dark brown or sand it down and paint it black. Is this feasible? Should I go to a store like Home Depot and they would guide me in this type of situation?
Thanks ! (im totally not a DIY kinda girl)

So far just blotted it with a cold water soaked towel. It faded a bit but some still remains. Please help with any ideas.

Is there anyone out there that prefers to cut crown molding laying flat on the bed on the miter saw? I tried this method last night and it was so much easier than trying to position it at a 45 degree angle against the fence. All you have to do is set the bed at 31.65 degrees and the blade at 33.65 degees. If you don't have a double compound miter saw like me, do the following when you're cutting the piece on the right side, the bottom has to be up agaist the fence and when cutting the left hand peice the top has to be up against the fence.

How easy is it to do? Would it be cheaper on utilities to go with an electric furnace rather than gas?

By this I mean, "Can you buy a blue light-bulb (or green or red or whatever) that has a 50, 100 and 150 watt setting?" It doesn't even have to be 50, 100, and 150. It can be any three levels, really.

If so, it would seem that you would only need a red, a green, and a blue 3-way light bulb to make light in any color of the rainbow.

I got a few christmas cactus that bloom of course at christmas time, but I have one that I bought in full bloom 2 years ago at Easter time. It has not bloomed again yet. The leaves are a little rounder then the Christmas cactus. Anybody have any idea what it is or when it will bloom again

The scent is pleasant (most of them are), but I don't really think it is necessary, so why do they put it in there?

NEXT FALL I'M WANTING TOO SELL MY HOME. OF COURSE I'D LIKE TO MAKE THE LARGEST PROFIT THATS POSSIBLE. AWHILE BACK I HAD FOUND A WEB SITE THAT LISTED HOME IMPROVEMENTS AND HOW MUCH THEY WILL INCREASE YOUR PROPERTY. I NOW CAN NOT FIND THIS WEB SITE. EXAMPLE OF IMPROVEMENT, REPLACING CARPET WITH HARDWOOD FLOORS, CHANGING SHOP INTO ANOTHER BEDROOM, ADDING AN ALL SEASONS ROOM, THINGS OF THIS NATURE. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IMPROVEMENTS SHOULD BE DONE TO INCREASE AND WHAT IMPROVEMENTS ARE NOT WORTH MESSING WITH?

I love my old Mirro Pressure Cooker, but, one of the cover handles is broken. I would like to find a replacement handle, or, an old lid or cooker with a handle. I have searched the web to no avail. Guess I need to find somebody who has an old one, or, who might have old parts laying around. Thanks
