I recently bought a franchise for an ice cream store. We had slip resistant quarry tile put in the back of the house. It's apprently some new super slip resistant floor. However, whatever is in the floor that makes it slip resistant is shredding the mops when they go over the floor. I know the obvious alternative is deck-brushing and squeegeing every night, but what about nights that the floor doesn't require a deck brushing? The mop shreds and leaves little "mop lint" all over the place.

You might want to consider investing in a small floor scrubber. We did, almost the rougher the floor the better the machine works. It is easier than mopping and comes out so much better. This is the one that we bought.

The only draw back is it does not get the edges real well. Will need to mop these areas. Go to your local janitorial supply store,, they have mop heads that are made for abrasive floors.
