This may sound like a silly question, but I have four 32 gal rubbermaid cans that are in great shape, but the lids have all gone to pieces from sun exposure. I can't find replacement lids. At Wal-Mart, you have to buy an entire new can to get a new lid. I hate to spend the money and create that much more waste for the planet when the cans are still perfectly good. Any ideas?

Often Home Depot will let you have them, because not everyone needs lids. Then they end up with extras that they need to throw away. Offer to pay a couple of dollars for them. Most landscaping crews use the bins but don't want the lids. Be sure to say please.
