Sounds like it might be a bad "cycle control timer". This means, the thingie that you turn to "wash, rinse, spin" isn't working correctly. It gets stuck in rinse. If you are mechanically inclined, you can remove the part and take it to your local repair shop and get a replacement part. If not, you can call a repairman or buy a new washer.

Sounds like the timer is shot. This comes from stopping and changing the cycles by hand too much while the washer is on. It's common. Call a repairman. Ask them if it is worth your fixing it or getting a new one depending on how old it is. You have to get the water out of it though before they will come I think. good luck.

your timer sounds like its dieing. replace the timer and see what happens.
