Try using WD40. I always use it to get glue off where stickers, etc have been. Have had good luck with it.

You could test an inconspicuous area with Goo Gone. This product will definitely work but may damage the finish on the pleather. If it does, then another option would be to apply mineral oil or even cooking oil to the residue and let it sit for a good while, probably an hour or more and then wipe it, and the residue away with a coth. A mild soap and water wash and then rinse to remove the last trace of oil should do the trick.

1) Spray the area thoroughly with WD-40. 2) Let it stand for 5 minutes (so that the sticky residue will absorb it). 3) Use a scraper or a razor, then scrape it off. 4) If residue is still present, repeat steps 1-3. 5) After it's clear, clean with a glass cleaner solution.

Spray some goo be gone on the tape and with a rag rub it in and start to peel it off. Then for the sticky residue left spray some more on it and wipe off.

Goo Gone should be your best bet, it works very well on tape and labels, it is less likely to destroy the surface than alcohol would. I'd try it in a place that wouldn't be noticed so bad first to make sure.

Definitely WD-40, like "Princess" said. That stuff works great! I've tried "goo gone" too but prefer WD-40. You should keep a can around the house, and not just for squeaky hinges. It'll get oil stains out of carpet too!

WD40 is awesome at getting residual adhesive off. As long as the pleather has a smooth finish and not suede, the suede would get greasy.

Your local hardware store should carry "Goo-gone" a liquid adhesive cleaner.
