Replacing galvanized pipe(which basically is rusted shut), and wondered if where the people who had the house before hand replaced with copper, if we could tap into that with plastic to replace the steel?

I recently moved into an apartment and the cabinets smell bad, it even makes the glasses smell funny, I tried cleaning them out with lysol but now it smells worse. My landlord said they were recently painted and maybe that is why they smell but didn't recommend any solutions, anyone have any ideas on how to get that awful smell out.

My guys wouldn't do anything intentional to mess up the new stove, but I am wondering if I would be smarter to get the coil with the type of use it might get. I'm worried about being too "old fashioned", but want to be practical. Any horror stories to deter me from taking a chance on the smoothtop? Those of you with smoothtops, are you happy, or do you think coil is better in the long run? (model I'm looking at has coated drip-pans that clean in the self-clean mode, which would solve the biggest negative of coil for me). Asked a few days ago, but still undecided and wanting more input. Thanks!

I live in the mountain area, the skunk is under the house near the fireplace and my bedroom, it appears in the early morning hours. It cries and then has this terrific odor. I've got a trap under the house with bread and peanut butter for bait, but it's been to no avail. Any suggestions?

I had a very good reply to my question, but some how lost it! I attempted to clean my stainless knives, forks, spoons etc. with "Barkeepers Friend". It left a light, powdery residue that I can not remove! I can scratch it with my fingernail and it moves, but using steel wool or other tarnish removers won't budge it! Someone PLEASE help! The set was passed on to me. It's at least 15 years old. I'll be looking for an answer. I didn't know there was a time limit.

i need to know what plant rental companies do with their plants when they are no longer looking "their best" and they remove them from office buildings, malls, etc. I'll be working on a project this summer and need to find 5-10 trees like this. Sort of the ficus type of tree. I live in the Chicago area.
Does anyone actually know if there is a place or person that would let me have (or purchase for a small amount) these "no longer showroom" quality plants?

Please help. Thank you.

thanks
