I live in the mountain area, the skunk is under the house near the fireplace and my bedroom, it appears in the early morning hours. It cries and then has this terrific odor. I've got a trap under the house with bread and peanut butter for bait, but it's been to no avail. Any suggestions?

Skunks like fruit,eggs mayonaise; wander at night. use a clamp trap, & a gun, stand up-wind cause they will spray 4 2 minutes when dieing! do you have a garden? if so that's where it's eating. as far as the smell goes, I have no clue how to get rid of it

spray sprayed areas with tomato juice, air out every thing else. youmight try a have a heart trap with a long rope attached... drag it away from the house & shoot it! it will probably still spray, but no damage, except the trap, easily fixed!

first thing, if it is getting under your house,when it comes out and hunts for food,you should fix any open area where critters can get under house,there is a way it is getting in &out find it &close it up.2nddont dump scraps of food in yard or close to house where varmits will come to &eat,its just inviting them 2 stay,cover trash cans and compost piles very good,mix lime &sulpher together ,leave dry &strow it under and around house.hopefully this will help
