I am not the best fan for house work.

I would kid myself that the mother in law is visiting in about an hour, and I go like the clappers, a bucket full of dusters, wipes, polishes, freshair, and a vacuum cleaner!!!

I do this once a month even when I dont need to!!! Good luck!.

I hate the minimalistic look which makes rooms look cold, uninviting and as if no-one lives there. It's for people with no imagination or taste of their own. Some interior designers are having a laugh at our expense. It's a fashion fad which I don't follow. I watch the home improvement TV programmes and the end result is always the same - a cold looking room with nothing in it. Then you get the programmes where people 'build their own', usually open plan houses with glass floors and windows so high they would be impossible to clean. My house is clean, tidy, but cosy. By that, I don't mean filled with ornaments. My kitchen is probably the only room which looks minimalistic cos I don't like anything at all standing on my worktops, only the kettle, mug stand, tea sugar and coffee containers. Be an individual - your friends come to see you, not your house.

my house is minimalistic it isnt plain and boring i dont have orniments and tat i add touches around the room like candles to set a nice soft light around the room and i dont hang pictures on my walls it looks like something out of a magazine my friends always say lol always looks neat tidy and clean and i have 2 teenage daughters

who hates fat yanks-- i think that was a tad cruel it doesnt matter what sort of house you live in as long as you have somewere warm and safe to live and it feels like home

i would like an organised home, but i am not a naturally organised person, I have to work at it, unlike hubby who is very tidy. I am , however, a clean freak and things have to be nice and clean otherwise I cant relax.

it just sounds like a home that is lived in. careful if you move things to put them "tidy". From personal experience, you may not find them again. Just relax and be happy

I don't like clutter so minimal is good for me. A home is personal and what you make of it yourself.
