My husband and I own an old house. We currently have a mice problem. I keep the house clean but I am finding mouse droppings everywhere. We know where they are coming in and we are in the process of changing those doors (but it costs money and we can only do soo much at one time) We have traps in the house where the dog cannot get to them. Is there anything else we can do to get rid of them besides calling an exterminator(i really don't think that is necessary now because the doors are not done). They are just driving me crazy!!!!!!!!

The facing is 100% cotton, the backing is 70% polyester and 30% cotton. I'm just curious as to what setting and water temp I should use on my washing machine?

I posted a question about removing a stain from a black polo shirt a couple of days ago. I was recommended by someone to not dry it and use zout. Unfortunately, zout did not remove the stain and I used quite a large amount on the stain too. I have some other stains that are stained that are white. Is bleach the only option? And what to do about ink stains on jeans? Thanks.

I talked to my building maintenance guy about getting blinds installed on our windows. He said he would charge $20 per blind and at that time we had 6 blinds to install. However, later we decided to install only 4 and gave him a check of $80. However, he claimed that we had agreed on a price of $120 at $30/blind instead of $20!! This is not true. When I tried to explain to him the situation, he just returned the check of $80 and said that he did not want any money at all (obviously he was upset). I was confused and I said this is not right and you can take the $120 if you want, but he refused to take any money at that time and said we can talk tomorrow. What do I do? I don't want to get sucked into giving him more money and $30/blind is a lot!! We even called and left a message on his phone but he has not returned the call. He is a building maintenance man so I am concerned because we have to deal with him for as long as we live here.

Suggestions please!!

I had a roof installed and the contractor used felt instead of asphalt in the 4 valleys. A neighbor's roofer told me this was against code AND the roof would eventually leak. I previously HAD asphalt in the valleys and even had a leak problem with it. Felt appears to be nothing more than thick paper. I have some major concern over the durability of such an installation. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

When I say all the basic types I mean simple like barrel cactus or prickley pair, but then it also says all of the different sub divisions of them, for example a barrel cactus might have the sub divisions of snow ball, pinnapple, hedgehog, and fishhook.

I have a gas dryer now, but moving and might need to switch to an electric and I do a ton of laundry with 3 kids. Just curious if it was worth having my gas turned off for 2 days to have it stubbed out to use the gas dryer or not! Thanks!

I have a 16 x 7 wood garage door, two springs on one side, two on the other. One of the left side springs broke, which leaves one intact. Can I replace just the spring that broke? Or, must the left side be replaced as a complete set?

I think I saw it on some DIY show- the plywood was cut into piesces, stained and coated with polyurethane. At least I think it was plywood. It was so unique looking! Has anyone ever0 tried this and are there different types of plywood or anything else I should know? Thanks!

I have a Vaillant Ecomax 835E combi boiler. Occansionally it makes a loud humming sound when the thermostat switches the radiators on. It lasts for a few seconds and then goes away. It doesn't always make this sound and sometimes the sound is louder then others. I can only describe the sound as humming that gradually gets louder and then dies away over 3 or 4 seconds. Other than that the system works perfectly.
