Acid Substances
Strong acids, such as battery acids and some tile cleaning compounds, if spilled on a carpet, require prompt action to prevent serious damage. First, flush the affected area with water. Sponge up the excess and repeat the process several times until the acid has been diluted and washed away. Finally, sponge the area with a solution prepared by adding one (1) tablespoon of baking soda to one (1) quart of warm water. Rinse again. Dry the carpet as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Battery Acid will melt into the carpet & can not be diluted.
I really do need to ask, what were you doing with a battery in the house any ways???

New Carpet - battery acid cannot be cleaned and it will eat through the carpet. Also, you do not want to touch that stuff.

there is an merchandise obtainable call Salt Eraser, and that i observed it at a Krogers keep not too until now. it works rather a lot, is provided in a twig can. because of the fact that battery acid is extremely corrosive you will possibly have everlasting harm, besides the undeniable fact that, so which you will purely attempt stuff and see if issues get extra effective.

If you're quick enough, you can dump a lot of water onto the spillage to dilute the acid but you are well past that now. All you can do is watch the stuff eat a hole in your carpet.

Next time, put the thing in a bowl when you bring it into the house.
