No way in hell! Sorry to say. I had only been married a month when got a brand new washing machine, I bunged everything that stood still in it including my husbands best Woollen Jumper.
When it came out, it would not have fitted our first born!!! I nearly died! I bunged it straight in the dustbin and bought him a new one, I have never lived it down, but it was a lesson learnt.
So do not beat yourself up on it, put down to experience, and move on and treat yourself to new one!

If it's shrunk just a VERY small amount try to wash it again and stretch it into shape but it will never feel like it was originally. If it has shrunk to the size of a postage stamp, put it in Barbie's wardrobe

You can attempt to stretch and blast it with a hot steam iron, keep it stretched until the wool has cooled and dryed thoroughly . It's not easy to get the shape back and this will not restore your jumper to its former glory but it's a last ditch attempt at rescue. Ignore the " hand down to a small person " advice unless you want to render them inactive. lol
