I already tried snaking and plunging (repeatedly) with limited sucess. The water recedes, but VERY slowly. If I flush it goes right back up to the top again.

Any suggestions? We do have another toilet, so this isn't an emergency, but I'd rather not pay for a plumber if I can help it.

My parents have had a famous TERMIte Co, for at least 20+ yrs.
Do to something about what my mom said about a certain amount of money set aside in an account in case the house ever needed to be tented, it became all about the money. The manager then proceeded to try and bully my parents into tenting the house, saying the other report didn't matter which had been free and clear. They bullied, harrassed and lied on reports. It has taken 16 months of fighting with them, now we have a swarm of termites in our house. They descovered it a year ago and said they would fix it, did nothing. Later, reports said it was an old colony and dead. But the previous year, no damage. That is a clearly NOT DEAD colony.
We have since gone with a local company who everyone has recommended. They are awesome and have given us our first sence of peace. Their reports clearly note the other company lied to dying people. How can I make sure this doesn't happen to others? Shame on TERMIte Co.

It seems some magazines call it polished cement, others refer to the type of sand mixed with the cement and also some mention cement and plaster mix. See links to pictures;

I would like to buy and make this myself, as opposed to buying ready made products featured in the pictures.

I do not know how to get the old base off other than unscrew the whole thing from the seat, it is not the same size base that screws into the seat so would have to make new holes. I was told you can use just the pedistal. There is a strange slip type attachement and was wondering if that had to be removed to get it off? can anyone please help me with this. I need all the help I can, I am just a mere female..:-)

This summer was the first year my Wisteria Vine bloomed. Now we have what looks like 2 seed pods hanging from the vine. Does anyone know if you can grow another vine from that pod of seeds? I haven't pulled it off or tried to open it up. Any suggestion?

I've heard you can avoid going to the cleaner's, and just do what it says above, or you can wash them in the sink. I hope you can, because I've heard cleaners cost an arm and a leg.

I'm so sick of going to do the dishes and smelling the nasty smell of bateria on my sponge that has only been used for a couple of days! I end up throwing it away and feel like I'm spending tons of money to buy new ones. Anyone know how to make them last for a while without the smell?

My friend is having a conservatory built onto the house in December. There is a rose (climber about 12' tall) growing where conservatory will go. As rose was planted by his elderly mother, he would like to save it, and grow it elsewhere. Take cuttings ? Any suggestions please ? Thanks HJ.

We just moved into a townhouse with hardwood floors, The lease requires rugs or carpet under furniture and heavy shelving. Our living room is a bit odd, so most store bought area rugs won't work well. We can piece a few rugs together, but would like a single rug. We are on a tight budget. Any ideas on how to keep the several small rugs from shifting without carpet tape?? And if we bought a large, room size remnent from a carpet place, would the edges fray since they would be unbound and not tacked down?
