First you need to get up in the attic and locate the nest, more than likely there is more thanone squirrel. Get about 20 rags and soak them in amonia and toss 4 or 5 around the nest. Scatter the rest around the attic. Put a radio in the attic on Rush Limbaugh, they detest him. The smell will drive them from the nest, if there are young ones the mother will remove them. The radio will prevent them from wanting to nest elsewhere in your attic. Once you are sure there are no more squirrels up there seal up any access points to prevent a repeat. If you seal them in the attic they will cause alot of damage.

If your attic isn't reasonably air tight the moth balls won't do much good or have to be replaced often.

You want moth crystals made from paradiaclorabenzine that's the real stuff. Their senses are allot stronger than ours. Make some small piles of the crystals and spread some out so they have to walk in it,IT WORKS.

You should invest in a commercial squirrel repellent. I know Bird-X, Inc. offers products that are guaranteed to be environmentally safe and animal friendly. So it won't harm the squirrels, but should effectively keep them, and other similar pesky critters, away from your yard.

Can you handle the smell of mothballs? Now picture your sniffer being 10 to 20 times stronger. They are repelled by the smell.

First you have to catch the moths. Then you should see what a de-balled moth can do to a squirrel.
