Moving to California from Pittsburgh, PA, I was surprised by the frequency of backyard fences here. Why is it that basically all of the homes here have 5 foot fences separating them? Also, what is the point of the walls outside of the neighborhoods?

OK, I have this dilemma that I run across at least once a month when I clean my house. What is the correct sequence for vaccuuming and dusting? Do you dust first, then stir up more dust when you vacuum or do you vacuum first and then push the dust on the floor when you are dusting. Help!!! I just want to do it all right.

I have had furniture sliders (the things you put under furniture to make the furniture just slide across the floor) under my washer for 5 years. I've changed them twice. Now all of a sudden the washer do not slide anymore. I went and bought new sliders, still wont slide, even waxed the floor, still won't slide. Do anyone have any suggestions?

Hi. I have a couple hibiscus planted in my flowerbed on the southern side of my house. I live in Southeastern Oklahoma.

It's supposed to get close to freezing tonight, so do I need to bring them in?

What's the best way to overwinter them? Do I need to repot them for the winter? Will they do okay in a garage? Or should I bring them inside where it's warmer and where there's natural light?

My washing machine used to be totally quiet, but now it is mildly loud when draining the water, just before each spin cycle. It is not very noisy when actually spinning. Anyone ever had to deal with this and know what it is? It's a 1996, GE Profile, electric model.
