Are you asking about a single lamp or a 3 way switch arrangement?

I guess you are asking about a lamp switch which will allow use of such as 50/100/150 watt incandescent bulb. Use two wire lamp cord, trim plastic 1/2 inch from end, twist the stranded copper wires and wrap one wire around each of the two screw posts on either side of the switch/bulb base.

If the foregoing doesn't nail your question, edit the question to make clear whether you are replacing lamp cord, replacing a switch, building a lamp, whatever.
