We planted two japaneese maple trees this year, they look sick and crispy.The woman at the garden center said,to strip the leaves off,but i have a feeling its more than that.Whats wrong?

The watering. It could be over or under watered. Can you take it back for a exchange? You might replant it in a better location with better soil.

Well, it is getting a bit chilly in most places. If you live somewhere that doesn't have a fast change in the seasons, the leaves will just slowly die in the fall instead of turn red.

If it really isn't doing well, there could be many reasons. At this point, I'd recommend just waiting till spring to decide if something is wrong.
