I love the old actresses like marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn and grace kelly and was gonna try to incorporate their pictures in simple black frames but don't know where to go from there.

I have a Hoover Wind Tunnel upright vacuum. I simply love this machine as it takes care of the mess made by three (shedding) corgis, a family of four with assorted guests and all the icky stuff tracked in from life in general.

Anyway, I always empty the cannister after each use and even go as far s wiping down the filter with a papertowel as well. This gets most of the built up dirt off, but there is always some gunk left in the top of the filter folds. Does anyone out there know if it can be washed or what I should do to keep it in good shape??

I'm looking for some good (free) websites to help me get organized. I'm also looking for tips on doing laundry and dishes. Are there any good ones that won't push a book or cost a fortune?

I moved into a house that was a vacation rental for many years and the lawn had been sodded years ago. It's pretty bare in some places, with the sod meshing exposed. It has been buried under season after season of shedding pine needles, cones, and it looks really tangled and thatchy. I live in snow country and winter is around the corner.

My question is: Is there anything I can do to overwinter my lawn that will give me a head start on getting it back into shape in the Spring?

I am wondering if I can get the skirting from one of the major home improvement centers or do I have to go through special suppliers.
I need to save as much money as I can.

I got my kitchen painted last week and already the paint has developed an "alligator" appearance!! The painters said paint only takes 20 mins to dry but everyone else I've spoken to says each coat should be left to dry for at least an hour!
Please help...Who is right?

This isn't just a small ink mark. My pen was about to run out of ink and spewed a big blob of black ink about the size of the head of a thumb tack, onto my beige-with-black-pin stripes pants suit. I think the material is poly/rayon and the pants are lined with beige fabric.

I have used aerosol hairspray successfully in the past, but not on a stain this large. I'm not sure hairspray will do the trick this time.

I there hope?

I live on the edge of a developed area, overlooking fields and cows etc.
For some time now, I have noticed a fair number of woodlice wandering about in the house. I don't have a woodpile just outside or anything like that.
I vacuum every day. I have a cat, but she is mainly a house cat.
I came in from work at 02.00 and there were 5 of the creatures wandering about in the hall.
What, if anything, can I do???
Thank-you.

I'm having a chair recovered because I still love the style of it. Most of the fabrics I like have a lot of Rayon in them. My mother says she doesn't think Rayon wears well. I really love these fabrics but, I don't want something that won't wear well. I have 2 children. I'd appreciate your advice here. Thanks.
