I am wondering if I can get the skirting from one of the major home improvement centers or do I have to go through special suppliers.
I need to save as much money as I can.

Lowes and or Home Depot have what you need: Top rail to attatch, skirting in 8' x 16" lengths, bottom rail, and top rail cover. It is not fun doing the math figuring out how many panels to get, I have a 16 x 80, my calculation for skirting came to roughly $350-400. So I decided to use plastic lattice instead. Looks nice. Good luck.....OH also, buy a case of beer and invite some guy friends over to help. It's a job, skirting!!

you can call the mobile home place and ask them to figure it for you. You do not have to buy from them - just find out how many panels you need. Then you can buy from wherever.
I did mine myself and it is a chore so unless you are really adept at stuff like that ask some friends to come help you. Even better if they ahve helped before and have an idea of what they are doing.

easy but u will need a skill saw, drill, hack saw and help from a friend.
all i did was build a "wall" of 2x2's (picture a ladder on it's side) to make it easier to handle i made my walls 8 feet long(then screwed them together once they were on the mobile), screwed the top plate into the bottom of the mobile home, drill a small hole in the bottom plate and drove 12" long (1/2")re-bar into the ground (about every 10 feet or so) measure distance from bottom of mobile to ground and subtract a couple of inches this will give you the height of your (wall)
mine was about 23 inches, i then used sheets of pressure treated plywood ( riped in half) to cover my wall, but u could almost use any thing vinyl or steal siding etc.\
u can get re bar plywood and 2x2 at any home building centre.
