Dyson. I never thought a vacuum would be worth $400-$500 but this thing is sick. The only thing with more suction in the known universe is a Black Hole.

Or maybe a Congressman's pocket......

Seriously, we have a Dyson Animal and now I actually LIKE to vacuum.

I have the yellow Dyson and it works great and is soooo easy to use. It may seem like a rather large investment for a vacuum but when you think about the money you save not buying filters (just rinse with warm water - lifetime filter) and belts or a whole new machine when it breaks (usually after a year) it's something to consider. Also if you have a Linens & Things or Bed Bath & Beyond around you can use their 20% coupon in the paper and save almost $100 on it!!

I presently own an Oreck, but if you want cutting edge state of the Art, you would do well to invest in a Dyson. It will cost a little more than most other typical brands. But its well made and very powerful.

Good luck

cheers!!

I would highly recommend a Kirby vacuum cleaner. I have had one for 25 years. It has cleaned better than the Eureka that I used to have and the Hoover that I currently also have. They cost more. But, then, they last longer and are made of better materials.

I myself have the Dyson for pets and I just love it. It really cleans carpets well. would not believe how much dirt it can suck up on a new carpet.

General electric sells a great one at walmart, you'll know which one it is because its the most expensive one, i know it sounds cheap but it isn't, its about $150.00 and it was in consumer reports magazine, works very well, hope this helped!
